Lots of Racing!
Hi Team,
Well we have lots of racing coming up with 6 of the guy's racing 70.3 Suisse next weekend. Matt, Ali, Stuart, Simon, Roy and Milan will be heading to Europe in preperation for the Ironman events in July. This will be a first for most of them so curious to see how they handle the bigtime racing!
Last weekend saw another team victory with newcomer Alena winning the Bahrain Airlines Triathlon beating arch rival and undefeated local Ruth Tucker. Alena will be racing IM Busselton with 11 other members in December. To say we were surprised is an understatement and what a buzz hearing her emotional phone call with her first victory EVER!! Hass went over also and had a personal best time by over 14 mins from last year which is exceptional over the sprint event.
Julie Barnard raced her first 1/2 marathon also in Europe over a very hilly course and now has her sights set firmly on a marathon next year. She went under our prediction of 2.15hr and had a ball over there racing in a major 1/2 marathon.
Chris Sellar was recently crowned the winner of the 10km run series in Dubai. THis was over 3 events and Sellars results were enough to be crowned the series champion and therefore best 10km runner in the UAE!! Chris has 70.3 Belguim in sights now!!
Catherine Prattley has also been named in the NZ team for the ITU World age group championships held on the Gold Coast in September. Our girl squad is on fire with Liz and Jane also looking for a GB spot in the World Championships. It really has become a strong girls squad and is something I have been looking for a while...
Last but not least, Jamie and Karen had a little baby girl last week, all is well for the new proud parents and Mum and bub are doing well.
Thats it for now team,
Safe training,
Coach
